�??AMe one And The Depressed Robot,�?� is Ame one�??s first release on Hawaii�??s SIQ Records. This EP consists of 4 songs. 3 are downtempo and the other is a nice simple house song. The songs are a nice blend of dark funky jazz and electronic music. One can see how jazz has clearly defined Ame one�??s style of music.

Track Listing and Descriptions

1. Umbra (Down Tempo Remix) is a dark sultry song that conjures up an image of love scene from 80�??s rogue cop movie. Ame one creatively blends and engineers a �??Santana�?� style guitar part to leave you with a nice dark yet simple groove.

2. Berliner has a nice flow of bossa sounding drums and synths. It uses some interesting panning ideas with the drums center and other elements panned left or right. Its kind of similar to the old jazz record panning of the past. It starts out with a nice heavy drum beat and then the synths come in to add a nice atmosphere. There are 2 jazzy synth solos in the song that give is a unique flavor.

3. Robot is built around a guitar sample and heavy boomy 808 style bassdrum with nice synths on top. The beat is pretty funky and has space for all the elements to sit nicely. The song is a little short instead of what would probably be a solo that is often present in many Ame one songs, there is a robot voice that speaks over the song about the virtues of sampling in hiphop and how it creates a archive of 20th Century pop culture. Just when you think this song is done it comes back in with a teaser of a funky beat to end.

4.Umbra (House Remix) the one non-downtempo song on this EP has a nice atmospheric and bouncy feel. It reminds me of something that you would see in a car commercial. Especially when the piano riff kicks in. The bass line is organic, funky and bouncy.
